Looking ahead, looking back
:::10 February 2006:::
Remember yesterday when I said the Judgement Crown was "damn sweet"?  Well, it just got a hell of a lot better.  Doomcrusher lent me his Pally Voodoo Doll so I could complete my ZG enchant quest.  That enchant added 10 to Defense, 7 to Stamana, and 24 to healing which takes the +healing alone on that helm to +56!!!  I can get another of those enchants to my Judgement Leggins.  Sweet.

ZG last night was fun.  We started out with low numbers (I was actually there from the beginning) and we kicked some butt.  When we started we had three Pallies, Doomcrusher, Forgefire, and me.  Doom left before we got to the tiger boss, leaving me as the lone full member Paladin in the raid (Forge is still a trial member).  Forge then had to leave and we got Hama (another Trial member).  It was nice being the "lead Paladin" on the end portion of the raid.  I think that I got to show a bit of what I can do when we got to Hakkar.
Hakkar has been tweaked by Blizzard.  It is a much more involved fight.  I am not going to go into all the details other than to say you need to have at least two Hunters to make the event a bit easier.

Talking with a few of the guildies during and after the raid it looks like there is a good number of us that have been in leadership roles or even guild leaders of guilds in other games.  My "game leadership" history is from EQ where I was Guild Leader of Ivory Order, I was elected to that role after serving as an officer for a while.  I was also the creator and guild leader of Thugs of Neriak before we merged with a larger guild.  I was an Officer in Circle of Knowledge during my early months in EQ.  I was in CK until I left to join several friends in Colossus, a startup raiding guild.  Even though we were a tight group, advancing through a lot of content much faster than some of the elite raiding guilds that were on the server, Colossus only lasted a few months when RL summoned the Guild Leader and his then soon-to-be wife away from the game.  It was at that time I joined IO.  IO was a family/raiding guild I was there for many months until it collapsed from growing pains.  There were members that wanted to take it to a raiding guild and others that did not.  We fractured and a good portion of members left.  It is sad to say that I was an officer and final guild leader when this happened.  I was helping to develop a raiding strategy (with fellow raid-centric officers) including a DKP system and schedules.  When the blow-up became inevitable and many of the "raid" people had left due to the non-raid people not doing anything to help the guild I felt it was best for me to give the leadership to another officer (one that I knew had the support and best interest of the guild at heart) and for me to leave without causing more drama.  From there I joined Second Covenant.  Together with Mithril Web, Second Covenant did many things advancing into the Planes of Power and Gates of Norrath.  SC did have some strong personalities that pushed a lot of people out.  Many of us left SC to join the Mythic Legends.  ML rocked.  ML was my last home in EQ. I was in ML for over a year (I was in EQ for nearly four years) It was with the Legend that I really learned how to raid.  The MW/SC raids did have many positives, but it was the overall team, working together for one goal, each class understanding its role and doing it with the efficiencies that was required to maximize the raid, not the individual.  I retired from EQ as a member of ML, whith Ghaani still on the server (Lanys was merged with 7th Hammer) as a member of The Legend.  Anyhow, that is my "history" I hope you enjoyed that.

Good Times

:::9 February 2006:::
Had a good night last night (once I was finally able to get in.  No not a queue issue just had a lot of things I had to do before I was able to log in).  Wednesday is BWL night.  I got in just as we were taking down Razor.  It looks like the changes to CTRaid really helped with my lag issues, as I was not getting much raid lag at all (Very nice!).

Anyhow, I was not actually in the room as Razor went down so I didn't roll on anything.  We went in to get Vael, and well that encounter is tricky, and hard to do when you don't have a full raid. The First attempt the Paladins and Priests were picking up BA in rapid succession.  The second attempt, a hunter got BA and didn't move to the safezone quickly enough and killed all the ranged DPS.  The third attempt something happened and all the tanks went down in one blow.  We called the BWL raid at that time.  We then went to take down Ony.  We only had 29 people in the raid, where you can take 40.  We got in, got buffed and started our way to the Black Dragon.  We took her down with ease, we just lost two people and one was rezzed during the fight.  Ony dropped a Judgement Helm! Since I was the only Pally there that did not have it, I got it! YIPPEE!!!  Also, we have an open roll on Ony's Head for all members.  I rolled a 100 on the head and got it too!  I was so jazzed.  I did feel bad that one of our main off-tanks had been wanting the head really bad as well (he rolled a 99).  Oh well, I will be going to Ony as often as we do her knowing that I don't need anything from her.  The last time we did Ony we had 33 and had ZERO deaths!  Put Ony on FARM status.

I did the turn in for Ony's head and decided on the ring.  It has much better stats on it than the ring I had, plus, it has +10 to Fire Resist, which my old ring didn't.  If I had taken the trinket, it would have just been a net +5 to FR and would have cut into my +Healing gear (which I feel is really important as long as Paladins are considered healers on raids).

The Judgement Crown is DAMN SWEET!  It has more AC than any other part of my gear except my Jedgement Leggings (not counting my shields)  It has great stats and looks a hell of a lot better than my crappy Lightforge Helm.

Here are the gear upgrades I want to get (not going to list Judgement):
Chest - Currently I have an Energized BP (blue drop from DM) - Up would be Lawbringer
Shoulders - Currently I have Lightforge - Up would be Lawbringer (from MC)
Hands - Currently I mainly use some +51 Healing mail gloves from DM - Up would be Lawbringer
Boots - Currently I have some blue boots from SS - Up would be Lawbringer

I have Lawbringer Bracers and Belt, and Judgement Crown and Leggings.

I need to do create my list of the bosses that drop that gear so I will know what to expect.

This is just my place to post my happenings in my on line gaming.
Currently I am playing World of Warcraft.  I am on the Gomeregan server. I am once again playing my Human Paladin. He has been moved from Elune and renamed Gabbath. He is once again main character. I also have Ghaan my Night Elf Hunter, a Blood Elf Priest Volto and a Dwarf Warrior Guuinnes who has been retired. Also on Gnomer, I have Gumule (Bank mule), Laarz (Draeni Shaman) and Phantsi (horde Bank mule). Each of those I just created to hold the name. On the Elune server I have Ghaani, a Night Elf Hunter, who is begging to be played. I also have Kiita a night elf druid I made for my daughter and Gruumpi, a Troll rogue I made for my son. I also have Zozan, a Human Mage who is basically a mule.
Ghaani was my first character in WoW. Ghaani was my Ranger in EQ before I played WoW, but you can read all about that in the blog. Ghaani and Gabbath started on Elune, Gabbath was named Guuinnes on Elune and had his name changed when I moved him to Gnomeregan.
My alliance characters are members of the guild Fatal Nemesis
