First Deadmines run with Little G
:::4 August 2006:::
I'm concerned about Blade's Edge.  Last night Duda, Sandviper, Inna, and another guild hunter did a deadmines run.  Sandviper brought his level 20 mage.  Duda and Inna both are 30+ mage.  The other hunter was level 19 but has not played WOW before.  My concern is that SV has zero people skills.  He was treating everyone as if we had never played the game before.  He loses his cool and treats everyone as if HE is the top person there.  I was trying to talk to him after the run trying to tell him that he needs to cool down.  I guess he is just a kid and doesn't understand leadership at all.  I told him that if he is going to act like that on a deadmines run then how is he going to act when the guild is learning Nef or hell Ony way before that.

The WoW developer's are good about creating encounters that prepare you for later encounters.  The Deadmines encounters teach you how to work with other people.  I'll admit that we did not have a healer last night so we were on a less than optimal run.  But Sandviper's response to my comments was the wort thing he could have done.  He told the GUILD "OK I am DONE leading instances.  I will help with quests but I will no longer lead instances."  I told him that was not the best thing to do and he went off.

It is sad to say but with a guild leader like that, Blade's Edge will have but a limited life.  SV will piss off more people than he brings in and the guild will die.

Aside from that, Little G got several new weapons last night, including his first blue item (Smitty's hammer 2H Mace).  He upgraded his 2h sword, 2h axe, shield, belt, and cape.  Overall not a bad run.  The only white item he has now is his shoulders

XP wise I only got 50% of in level.  That was a lot lower than I wanted but with the new weapons and armor I should be able to clear the area outside the instance and grind some xp solo.  I most likely won't hit 20 on Friday but I should be past over the weekend.
Laurel is playing her Dwarf.  I saw that she is level 13.  I wish I could be on-line when she is so I could help her get some levels.  It would be nice to have my own healer.  In the early parts of the game a Warrior/Priest duo can do everything short of the big instances.  Then all we'd have to add would be DPS classes (and there are many of them)

Daily posting
:::3 August 2006:::
I did hit 18 last night.  I am steadily making money and gaining XP.  I did the "highwayman pass" a few times last night.  I was doing it solo to fine-tune my single pulling.  I also did a bit of the running around quests between Westfall, Lakeshire, and Stormwind.
I did get a decent 1h Sword and 1h mace last night.  My best DPS weapon is still my 2h Sword followed by my 2h Mace.  My 1h Axe, Sword and Mace have a little more DPS than my 2h Axe, but other than a dagger and gun, I have all the weapons covered and within a few points of being up to level.  Also I got a shoulder slot item last night.  It is still common or white quality, but that was a nice AC upgrade from the nothing that was there.
I am still on track to have level 20 before the weekend.  Since I logged off shortly after levelling to 18 I will have to work hard tonight to get level 19.  At that point I may be able to get in a Deadmine group or at least the area just outside the instance and farm wool, xp, and coin.
I am really liking the Titan panels for the UI.  I can't believe that I did not use them before.  There is so much information on them that it is making it even easier.
I am wondering if I should transfer one of my Elune characters to Gnomer when it becomes available.  I could load up Kiita with money and loot since there are a shortage of druids on the server.  It would cost $25 but even at her level with the money and gear that I would bring over she would be among the top druids in the guild.  I'll talk to the guys in Blades Edge to see what they think.

Update on Little G.

:::2 August 2006:::

I decided on Mining/Skinning wile I level to make money. I now have at least a 6 slot bag in all my bag slots. In addition to the Backpack, I have one 10-slot and one 8-slot which gives me around 46 total personal inventory slots. I have even moved one six slot bag to the bank.

Money wise I have over 2 GP, fully trained and decently equipped. Except for my cloak and belt, I have a green item in each slot that I can equip something (shoulders and head are post 20). I have a nice 2H sword that in battle mode I can crank out over 35 DPS on even conned mobs. I have been keeping my 2H Axe, 2H Mace, 1H axe and 1H Mace skills fairly up to date. I need to get a good 1H Sword.

I have finished the "newbie" quests in Dun Mordan, completed many of the quests in Loch Mordan and have moved to Westfall to gear up and get ready for the Deadmines. I am level 16 (and not too far from level 17).

I am having fun. Which is very important. Laurellita has created a dwarf priest on Gnomer. She is up to level 10. Monday night (after the MNC fell apart) we did some newbie-questing together. It was a lot of fun. I got her into the guild I am in. Duda responded by sending her a nice robe and a 10 slot bag. She was very happy.

My progression, I need to finish the Westfall quests and do some grinding on the outside mobs. I should hit 17 and possibly 18 tonight. I want to be 20 by the weekend so I can spend some time this weekend in the Deadmines/VC runs.

TIme to turn the page

:::27 July 2006:::

And so another chapter begins. Last night I started Little Guuinnes on the Gomeragen server. Little G is a Dwarf Warrior. Gnomer is a PST server with a VERY SMALL player base (like 1/10th of Elune). The time zone is an important thing as my play schedule is better suited to the PST time zone. I usually can't get on-line until 8:00 local time which is 6:00 PST That would make my play time right in line with the server's prime time. Hopefully I will grow quickly and get into a good guild so I can progress past where Big G and Ghaani have now stopped.

Why this change? Well, first, there is not a transfer to a PST server from Elune happening (at least not for free). The reason why I wanted to transfer to a PST server is because Elune is an EST server and all the raiding guilds start their evening at 7:00pm server time (6:00pm my time) That is a full two hours before I can get on-line. The final straw was Absolute Chaos has ended the "Chaos" raid and merged it into the "main" raid. The new raid schedule is just like every other raiding guild on the server, so I was screwed (or would be lucky to raid one night a week).

Why a Warrior, and a DWARF warrior?!?!? That is easy, in all groups/raids there are three classes that are NEEDED: Tank, Healer, & DPS. I have played a healer type (I THOUGHT the Paladin was a tankish type...) and the DPS types can be filled by many classes (Mage, Warlock, Rogue, Hunter). That really leaves one class for Tanking, the Warrior. All raids must have a few warriors. I did not want to play a priest. I have grown tired of being at the back of the raid with Big G and Ghaani. There is always a glut of Rogues and Hunters. Plus, if I take my gaming knowledge and become a good tank I will ALWAYS be wanted. OK, you say. A warrior is understandable, but why a DWARF? Well, I knew I wanted to play a warrior and I really didn't want to play another female character. I thought about a gnome (I am on Gnomer after-all) but the make gnome warrior just looked wrong. I then thought about what name I was going to use and Guuinnes just seemed right to carry over. Since Guinness is my favorite beer I thought, hmm dwarves love beer... and the character was created. Little G (as I refer to him) has a dark tinted skin tone and a blondish-white beard (much like that of a the foamy head of a well built Guinness). He is bald with a braided beard. I think he looks right. I started playing last night after 10:00pm (8:00pm server time!) and dinked around for a couple hours. I logged with Little G level 6 and ready to leave Coldstone Valley.

The hardest part of starting a new character on a different server is that I will have ZERO funds for a while. I think while I am leveling up I will be a skinner/enchanter or skinner/herbalist so I can sell everything I get and increase my bank. A good think about a Warrior is I will not need to continually stock pet food, ammo, reagents, and various things not needed to directly impact my damage output and questing. I will need to get some bags as soon as possible. Having just one backpack seriously limits what I can carry.

I will continue with the MNC. I will ask if they want to work on Gnomer as well. I plan to make Gnomer my home.

This is just my place to post my happenings in my on line gaming.
Currently I am playing World of Warcraft.  I am on the Gomeregan server. I am once again playing my Human Paladin. He has been moved from Elune and renamed Gabbath. He is once again main character. I also have Ghaan my Night Elf Hunter, a Blood Elf Priest Volto and a Dwarf Warrior Guuinnes who has been retired. Also on Gnomer, I have Gumule (Bank mule), Laarz (Draeni Shaman) and Phantsi (horde Bank mule). Each of those I just created to hold the name. On the Elune server I have Ghaani, a Night Elf Hunter, who is begging to be played. I also have Kiita a night elf druid I made for my daughter and Gruumpi, a Troll rogue I made for my son. I also have Zozan, a Human Mage who is basically a mule.
Ghaani was my first character in WoW. Ghaani was my Ranger in EQ before I played WoW, but you can read all about that in the blog. Ghaani and Gabbath started on Elune, Gabbath was named Guuinnes on Elune and had his name changed when I moved him to Gnomeregan.
My alliance characters are members of the guild Fatal Nemesis
