The cloud is finally beginning to lift . . .
Jetlag really sucks! I'm finally beginning to get out of this fog that I've been in for the past few days.
I forgot to post something on Thanksgiving Day and wanted to write something briefly about all the things that I
am grateful for in my life. I am thankful for having a great sister who always supports me in all my
adventures. Whenever I tell her what I'm up to, all she can say is "now where are you going?" And then
she follows up with "just be careful." I am thankful for my health and the health of my family and friends.
I just returned from a terrific experience on my first real solo international trip and am very thankful for that.
I visited magical places and met people who were really nice, interesting and very helpful.
Good news. I finally started my trip report, which I wanted to do right away while things are fresh in my
mind. I added my
Back to Europe Solo Trip-November 2006 page to my website and am slowly beginning to jot down notes for my trip report.
Walking on the Charles Bridge with a view of Prague Castle all lit up late at night was "magical".

I'm Back!!!!
I'm finally back! And I'm still on European time and a bit groggy. My day started at 6:00 am and I am exhausted.
So much so that I don't dare write anything meaningful at this second.
I really tried to blog while on the road, but I could not access my blog site. Bummer!!
Just as a teaser I just have to say for now that it was a FANTASTIC and LIFE CHANGING trip!! Everything went well
. . . the weather, the hotel arrangements, the sight seeing goals, the ground transportation (this is the one thing
I was sort of worried about). It was like I had a guardian angel following me throughout my journey.
As soon as I get some rest and some turkey cuz you know tomorrow is turkey day, I will write something more substantial.
Nighty night!!!

Here I go Again!
Well, my bags are packed (actually packed and re-packed several times over). Now I 'm just waiting to go to
the airport. Then I'm on a long flight to London and then on to Prague. I hope I can sleep.
I just checked the weather reports and it's actually warmed up quite a bit from last week. Yay!!!
Well, I said a little prayer for my safe journey and will bring my luggage down stairs. I just hope that I packed
right for the security checks at the airport.

See ya!

Smart Idea . . .
Oops! I almost forgot to post my Picture of the Month for November. I wanted to post
a picture that would commemorate my Back to Europe Trip and so after a few minutes I decided to post ME!
So here I am . . . next to this cute little SMART car that my friend and I rented for the day in Siena. It
was so cool!
3 more sleeps . . .

4 more sleeps . . . . beam me there Scotty!!
I am officially on major "freak out" mode right now! I'm telling you. . . . I sit here and look at my "stuff"
and I think %#*^&# !!!
Okay, I'm done freaking! I have reconfirmed all of my hotels, printed out my e-mails, put a hold
on my mail and newspaper, washed all my clothes. I have my haircut appointment tonight and will call my banks and credit
card companies today to inform them of my travel plans. What else?? Am I missing something here. Oh and I need
to go target to buy some dramamine and to Trader Joes to get travel snacks. I'll buy some of those
famous TJ Trail mix and nuts.
Speaking of nuts! I can't believe I'm doing this. A solo trip! And to Prague - Central Europe (of all
places)! Okay, back to freak out mode again!
I love to travel so much, but it's really the getting there part that doesn't show me much love! The
security, the 12 hour flight, the clostraphobic on board toillettes and the hours on hours of sitting!
Sometimes I wish that I could travel all over the world, but without the getting there part! Wouldn't it be
cool to have one of those Star Trek devices that Captain Kirk had. After I'm done packing, I can flip
it open like I do with my cell phone . . . and say "BEAM ME THERE SCOTTY!!!" And POOF!
. . . .I'm in Prague sitting at a cafe and drinking a cup of coffee!
Honestly, in the end, I am always willing to go through the hard "getting to" part for the opportunities to
travel. Once I am there I always tell myself that it is all WORTH IT!!! I love to travel, I love visiting new
and familiar places, I love the unknown, it is the kind of rush that tells me that I am living life to the fullest.
I am really looking forward to this trip and how it will affect my life. How can it not! The
history behind Prague is amazing and I have a feeling it will affect me in many different ways. I also can't wait to
re-visit Salzburg. The Sound of Music was one of my mother's favorite movies and one that we wathced as a family each
Christmas. I know re-visiting the City and the surrounding areas will be exciting as well as emotional.
My new theme for this "Back to Europe" trip is: "Life is full of New Beginnings."
