In November 2007, I decided to take my traveling down
a notch and spend two wonderful weeks in Venice, Italy. I had been to Venice twice before but as a day tripper
with one of those famous "Group Tours." I'm not going to knock group tours, because frankly not everyone enjoys
Independent Travel. Everyone is different. In fact on the two group tours that I went on, I really enjoyed
the people a lot.
But ever since I found Slow Travel, I have discovered the
joys of independent travel. And now it is my preferred style of travel.
I decided to use the Slow Travel philosophy and spend two weeks
in Venice with a few day trips to nearby towns. Venice is in my opinion one of the most beautiful cities in the World
and as such I wanted to see what lied beneath that beauty. For months before my trip I really day dreamed and thought
about what I was going to enjoy doing and what I was looking forward to the most.
Once I arrived in Venice and as each day passed, I slowly began
to unravel and embrace the true essence of Venice which you will read in my report.
My trip was fantastic and I have to thank the Slow Travel
Community and especially those who's trip reports, photos, blogs, travel articles and posts I read in preparation for
this trip. You're all Awesome! And you ROCK too! My sincere thanks to
all of you.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy!
