Kelly Hu was born on Feb. 13, 1968 of Chinese, English
and Hawaiian ancestry to Herbert and Juanita Hu in Honolulu, Hawaii. At age 16 she was picked as Miss Teen USA in Miami, Florida
before a live international broadcast of more than 50 million people. She decided to pursue acting after high school.
Her first acting appearance was a guest role in the tv show "Growing
Pains" opposite Kirk Cameron ( lucky guy!!). After Growing Pains her career started to sky rocket with roles in Oliver Stones's
"The Doors," "Strange Days," "Friday the 13th : Jason Takes Manhattan," "Night Court," and "Melrose Place." Her first action
role was an undercover cop with Russell Crowe in "No Way Back."
In 1997, she was cast as Dr. Rae Chang in "Sunset Beach." After
that she was given the role of a tough cop in San Francisco on the tv show "Nash Bridges" with Don Johnson. She was also cast
as as a martial artist in the tv series "Martial Law." after her tv appearances, she started working on movies again with
the "Scorpion King" where she played a sorceress who was forced to work for a warlord and then kidnapped by Mathayus (The
Rock). She then turns against the warlord with Mathayus' help. She is also seen opposite of Jet Li in "Cradle 2 : The Grave"
where she portrays a villainess by the name of Sona.
