Kristi Yamaguchi

Kristi was born on July 12, 1971 in Fremont, California. Her skating idol was Dorothy Hamill and became the first American woman to win gold at the Olympics since Dorothy Hamill. That ended a drought of 16 years of not winning the gold medal. Kristi competed in both women's singles and pairs. She was also paired with Rudy Galindo.

Kristi has accomplished all that she needs or wants as an amateur skater. She had no second thoughts about going pro.
