You have two choices in life: You can dissolve into the mainstream, or you can be distinct. To be distinct is to be different. To be different, you must strive to be what no one else but you can be.

(A New Newsletter Every Week)
The single greatest moment on any RV trip is the instant you turn the key on the ignition of your motorhome or tow vehicle and hear the engine roar to life. You are about to untether yourself from your fixed-based life, and you feel a surge of energy from deep within your soul. Adventure, excitement and discovery await, and that's a feeling that nearly all RVers experience at each moment of departure.

My 1 Year Anniversary Here!
Today it's exactly 1 year since I arrived here in White Springs, FL at Kelly's Rv Park & I sit here typing this from my computer in the front office at Kelly's where I work as an assistant to the owners of the business.

It's truly a beautiful day in the neighborhood (about 67 degrees & sunny) & I feel very furtunate to have my job...& all the perks that go along with it!

I'm glad for the changes that have occurred since leaving the ol home port and trading the familiar for a chance at inner peace & joy.  I'm enjoying the present, of the present...

Work-camping...Works!!!
Hello, it's been a long time...I'm pretty busy these days!  I've become what's called a "Work-Camper" in the RV Park office for a couple of months now.  I'm enjoying it a lot, & just love not having to spend any $$ getting to & from work.  The perks to Work-Camping are many, basically it's the barter system.   In exchange for your labor you receive housing, utilities, etc... + $--every situation is unique to where you are doing the Work-Camping.

I feel very fortunate & thankful that this type of living/working situation gives me the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people & reduces my cost of living substantially.  Yes,---it's true, this is not the way I thought it would be, I'm not traveling at this time, although we do plan on traveling during the "slow-time" next summer.  For obvious reasons, Florida is not the place most people seek out during the Summer months.

I have happily & successfully accomplished my goal of living a more Natural & less consumer driven-material lifestyle.  Everyday I'm surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of Mother Nature, fewer people & way less cars/traffic & stress.

Every day I get to walk in the Woods for miles on end with my Dog off the leash (Black lab-Blu, whom we inherited from another park resident) & just the occasional sighting of another person.  We also got a Kitty Cat-Winky, he has 1 bad eye) from the same park resident we got the dog from.

So, life is good & I feel truly Blessed.  I do realize that accomplishing all of this required a leap of Faith on my part, which actually took me awhile to muster up the courage to take...I'm so very glad I did!

Oh Well, I'm Still in Florida...
Hi, Oh boy it sure has been awhile--hasn't it though!!

I'm still living in White Springs, FL @ Kelly's RV & Mobile Home Park  http://kellysrvpark.com/ & am enjoying it tremendously.

The immediate surrounding area is so full of hiking/walking/biking trails that I am able to get in every bit of hiking & biking that I want to each & every day.  Today, I managed to get in a hike of at least 9-10 miles--it's just fantastic to have this (the Florida Trail) as your very own backyard.

I have had some wonderful & unexpected things happen since I arrived here.  I have met a great guy to enjoy being with & we have a pretty terrific relationship, going on 4 months now.  He also just happens to be, the Son of the Owners of the Park I'm staying at.  Who would have ever guessed that I wouldn't even make it out of Florida---I only made it 4+1/2 hrs. from home & I met someone that totally & completely changed my travel itenerary (& my life)!!

I Really Did It!!!
I finally got my nerve up & actually left in my RV Nov. 18th 2006, I've been RV camping ever since & have really been enjoying the whole experience, as well as gaining experience each & every day.  My very first stop as an official RV'er was at O'Leno State Park in High Springs, Fl. $15.00/day.  I had 2 different sites while I was there, both in the Magnolia Camping area.  Totally loved it, & I got pretty good at making a campfire, too.

I did find out that as a Single RV'er I had to make the move to be friendly, meeting & talking with others.  It would have been a bit too quiet if I had stayed completely to myself.  I have now moved on to an RV Park in White Springs, FL on the Suwannee River, there's a lot of camping in the area & I was fortunate enough to find Kelly's RV Park on Rt. 41 (they take Passport Amer., Camp Club USA among others) their monthly rate is very reasonable $235.00 plus tax, so I went ahead with that & paid for the whole month of December.

Since being on the road & using my rig I've had to have some additional plumbing work done to correct some leaks & will have to have the toilet repaired as well.  It was really nice to have a mobile repair service, that the Park recommended, (Tri-County RV Services-ask for Glen) come right to where I'm parked to service the rig so I didn't have to unhook & travel in unfamiliar territory.

I've met some really friendly people here & this Park has regular group events that make a person feel welcome.  It's going to get mighty cold tonight, by Florida standards & I'm really glad I bought an oscillating heater the 2nd day I camped--so I don't have to fire up the furnace.

So far so good, even though there's been a couple of challenges along the way, One being when the outside refrigerator compartment cover wasn't securely latched & it flew off on the road as I was traveling 50+mph!!  I was furtunate that there is a used RV Parts Store not too far from here & some nice folks took me there yesterday to pick up a replacement cover--for only $15.00!

I highly recommend Singles, & that includes Women on their own, not hesitate to try out this lifestyle!  My confidence has grown a lot in a short period of time & I really needed that...

Auction Winner Extraordinaire...
Ya know how I've mentioned that I've been adding to my Jewelry Making Inventory, so I'll be prepared to Work on Creating new Jewelry Designs on the Road----Well, I've become very good at winning E-bay auctions as a way to purchase some much needed inventory/supplies for a really good price & it's FUN, too.  I'm inching closer & closer to fullfilling my Dream of going on the Road.  Luckily what I do for a Living doesn't take up too much room or weight in my RV, but it does necessitate me being super organized with my supplies & that is not something that's as easy as it sounds for a "Right Brained Person" (The right side of the brain is strongly visual and processes information in an Intuitive, Artistic & Simultaneous way)--In other words I kinda suck at staying super-duper organized...
