Seeing Some Light These Days-It's A Very Good Sign!
Things aren't looking so damn dark anymore. I'm finally doing much better and will not be
having the previously scheduled Stem Cell Transplant for which my one & only Sister was found to be my Perfect Match-It
had been scheduled to begin on June 8th. Boy I've sure dodged a bullet there.
The all too frequent Transfusions that had become routine are fading into distant memory--it's
now been 3 mos. since I've had any at all!!
All I can say is that I have experienced something life changing & wonderful. I continue
to be extremely hopeful for my future-that I may be able to return to so called "Normal". During this process I am seeking
out that which will be healing & uplifting to my Spirit, Mind & Body.
I send a Heartfelt Thank You to all those who have sent good thoughts my way &/or
Prayed for my recovery. The Universe has heard You.

Transfusions on the Menu...Yuck!
Just giving a bit of an update on things. It's appropriate for me to use the color
of blood here, as blood has been the main focus of my life for several weeks now. Specifically, falling blood counts
as in White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoglobin & Hematocrits- among others.
I've had to be on the receiving end of some Good Blood as my own counts have gone into
the toilet, so to speak, due to Chemo & it's side effects. I was finally able to receive the 4th & final round
of some particularly harsh Chemo drugs the week of 10/12-10/15. (The combo being Fludarabine & Rituxan).
Later this week I'll be gettting a P.E.T. Scan
to see what those lovely little naughty cells are up to, they can run but they can't hide---from Technology that is!

Things Change...
I haven't updated here in a really long time. I was
going along in my life doing 'Work Kamping' for almost 2 years -- meeting lots of terrific people & enjoying
my job as the Asst. Manager @ Kelly's RV Park.
Then I got hit with some pretty serious issues that were quite
unexpected. In Feb. 09 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma; have had major complications from pneumonia &
a fungal infection in my lungs, spent a total of 6 weeks in hospitals, had my treatment interrupted for 4 months &
am now in between Chemo rounds #3 & 4 (which begins Aug. 10-14th).
While I was hospitalized in Gainesville the Good People of
Kelly's held fundraising events on my behalf & raised almost $5,000 to help me get by. I haven't been able to work in
almost 6 months & am now on disability.
I had to move out of where I was living in a Mobile Home (with Craig, Dogs &
Cats) because my Dr.'s didn't want to chance my exposure to mold in my living environment. So I lived for several weeks in
someone else's RV then I moved into my current situation while my friend is away. I then sold my own RV which was too old
& damp & purchased a newer & nicer one from some folks in the Park & will move into it soon.
It's sure been a roller coaster ride of change, challenge & perseverance.

My 1 Year Anniversary Here!
Today it's exactly 1 year since I arrived here in White Springs, FL at Kelly's Rv Park
& I sit here typing this from my computer in the front office at Kelly's where I work as an assistant to the
owners of the business.
It's truly a beautiful day in the neighborhood (about 67 degrees & sunny) & I feel
very furtunate to have my job...& all the perks that go along with it!
I'm glad for the changes that have occurred since leaving the ol home port and trading the
familiar for a chance at inner peace & joy. I'm enjoying the present, of the present...

Work-camping...Works!!!
Hello, it's been a long time...I'm pretty busy these days! I've become what's
called a "Work-Camper" in the RV Park office for a couple of months now. I'm enjoying it a lot, & just love
not having to spend any $$ getting to & from work. The perks to Work-Camping are many, basically it's the barter
system. In exchange for your labor you receive housing, utilities, etc... + $--every situation
is unique to where you are doing the Work-Camping.
I feel very fortunate & thankful that this type of living/working situation gives me
the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people & reduces my cost of living substantially. Yes,---it's true,
this is not the way I thought it would be, I'm not traveling at this time, although we do plan on traveling during the
"slow-time" next summer. For obvious reasons, Florida is not the place most people seek out during the Summer months.
I have happily & successfully accomplished my goal of living a more Natural & less
consumer driven-material lifestyle. Everyday I'm surrounded by the unspoiled beauty of Mother Nature, fewer people &
way less cars/traffic & stress.
Every day I get to walk in the Woods for miles on end with my Dog off the leash (Black
lab-Blu, whom we inherited from another park resident) & just the occasional sighting of another person. We
also got a Kitty Cat-Winky, he has 1 bad eye) from the same park resident we got the dog from.
So, life is good & I feel truly Blessed. I do realize that accomplishing all
of this required a leap of Faith on my part, which actually took me awhile to muster up the courage to take...I'm so very
glad I did!
