"Life is a Poem..."by Ryan Holman

Life is a poem, played
Out on a stage; as our
Lives become filled with the
Conflict and rage of our
Condemned society.

Props meant as guidance turn
Each actor astray; soon
Fights to the death as the
Set crashes down and the
Lights go to dark; as the
Fights turn to real; as the
Barbs hit their mark; as the
Audience flees with prayers
Whispered among themselves.

Spotlight comes on; hope comes
Around; the props are in
Shambles -- the crowd not found.
They look to stage right and
They see what they've caused; the
Chaos and destruction
Deserves no applause; the
Play is a flop, and we
All know the reason; 'tis
Stupor and anger of
All acts of treason; our
Props created to be
Better than man itself.

We are the actors in
This morbid play; our own
Props control us though we
Hold them at bay. Keep your
Props in their proper place;
Use them to begin, not
Finish the race of life.

Life is a poem played
Out on a stage; as our
Lives become filled with the
Caring and sage of our
Peaceful society.

'Crisis averted. Have a nice day.'
