The equipment room quickly gets hot, even in the winter, especially when the chiller kicks in. I killed two bathroom ventilation fans, partly because I was trying to run them on a whole house fan thermostat. This is a mistake, because this type of thermostat requires a 10 degree hysteresis.  In other words, the fan turns on and does not shut off until the temperature drops 10 degrees.  The bathroom fans ran for long periods of time and are not built for continuous running. That and the salty air destroyed them in less than a month.

Now the room is ventilated with a Shaefer Greenhouse fan, from ACF Greenhouses.  The fan moves 760 cfm, far more than a bathroom fan. It tends to run for only a couple of minutes, except on very warm days when the AC is turned off. Once the weather gets cold, it rarely runs.
