From the first time you heard that tiny sound of
glass being scored;
From the first time you saw the glass break between
your fingers
-you knew-
you were addicted.
And you've been there- up all night, dizzy
from the smell of the flux, eyes blurry from lack of sleep- just to get it done.
A famous writer once said, "I hate writing,
but I love having written." This can describe that "3am" feeling.
You just have to get this project done!
If you finish by dawn, you'll be able to hold
it up to the window and catch the first rays of morning sunshine.
You rub your eyes; the smoke from the iron can
really get to you at this hour.
But you persevere, and the morning comes. The
sunlight streams through the studio window and now you know why you've been up all night.
The splendor of colors, the even seams of
solder- this is a most perfect addiction.
