History of Our Club
Sedro Woolley,1986,a small 50's theme restaurant called JJs opens it's doors.Car owners were invited to bring their
cars to the Grand Opening.32 cars showed up that day & plans were made to make it an annual event.1987,the event was given
a name,"JJs Summer Safari Cruise-in" This name was a combination of the 1955 Pontiac Safari Wagon owned by the diners owner
& the Beach Boys song "Surfin' Safari".JJs still puts on this show which is now a 3 day event held at "Howard Miller Steelhead
Park"in Rockport, Wa.1988,in conjuction with the "Skagit Valley Tulip Festival" the 1st annual "JJs Tulip Cruise" was held
at JJs restaurant.About 90 cars showed up on this rainy day & the show was televised on "Cruisin'Northwest" This event is
now known as the "April Showers Show & Shine" At this time it was decided to start a Car Club.Since everything seemed to be
happening at JJs,the clubs name would be "JJs Cruisers" Since the organization of JJs Cruisers another show has been added
in conjuction with the "Sedro Woolley Founders Day" Over the years JJs Cruisers has donated money to a wide variety of Charities
& Projects in our communities.We also sponser one or more families at Christmas.This along with our love of Cars is what it's
all about.
