I was listening to a talk by a meditation teacher recently. He said that sometimes
technique gets in the way. That it’s important in the beginning to have a technique
but to only practice a technique may be of limited value.
It is said that Yoga is both a science
and an art. The technique is the science.
Precise, time-tested, sometimes even studied in the context of modern medicine.
It's even technique when I listen carefully to my teachers explaining the art of the practice.
Yoga becomes art for me when I
am have the courage, curiosity, and compassion to feel my way through my practice and to trust what I find. No expectations…just this breath, just this body, just this moment.
