We use the practice of yoga, not to correct or punish ourselves for who we are not, but to see who we actually are."  - Donna Farhi

Class Descriptions:

Beginner/Gentle:  This class is appropriate for those new to yoga or who prefer a gentle practice.

Hatha Yoga/Meditation: This class is open to all, but will probably be more enjoyable if you’ve learned some of the basics in a beginners class first.  That being said, the pace of the class is fairly slow so even if you are still a little new to the practice, you won’t feel left behind.  An atmosphere of acceptance and non-competitiveness is encouraged as we work slowly and deeply toward self-discovery.

While this class will help with strength and flexibility, it will also include a focus on expanding your experience of yoga beyond the postures to include a short period of meditation. The attendance in this class tends to be multi-level and everyone is encouraged to work at their own pace.

Restorative Yoga:  Restorative Yoga is a series of poses which are supported through the use of bolsters, blankets, and pillows.  The body can be held in each pose without having to exert any effort, creating a deeply healing and meditative experience.

Yin Yoga: - Muscles and connective tissue do not respond to training in the same way and a student’s practice becomes more effective when the difference is understood.  Most forms of Yoga practiced today emphasize muscular movement and contraction. By contrast Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis and lower spine. Yin postures are held three to five minutes at a time. This type of practice complements the more muscular styles of Yoga helping to bring elasticity and ease to our bodies. Its a great preparation for longer meditation practices.  All levels of students are welcome.
