Thanks to our wonderful government in the State of Ohio, and their passing
of a new budget, The Cambridge Fire Department stands to lose approximately $250,000 out of their operating budget for 2007.
We are currently scrambling to make up this large void in the budget, to prevent the loss of firefighters.
Under the new budget, Personal property tax is abolished, and this is where
a large portion of our funding comes from. The Local 910 is working closely with district representatives of the IAFF,
and Representative Jennifer Garrison to find ways to fund departments that will lose money. We are not the only ones affected
by this, several other munincipalities will have large cuts to their public safety budgets.
If you are at all funded by levies, I urge you to contact your VP, and get
the ball rolling, and make up the void before we are all hung out to dry.
