Knowledge and preparation are vital in any emergency situation, even with our beloved pets.American
Red Cross ~ Pet First Aid / CPR for dogs & cats is now available in the High Desert. The city of Victorville offers this
unique class through the Parks and Recreation District at the Hook Community Center.
The primary focus of this class is to teach animal awareness; the importance of keeping
pets safe as well as how to protect pets from injuries. Additionally, through hands on activities and observation, students
can evaluate and assess possible emergency situations involving their pets.
The ABC’s of Pet Safety
Students ages 4-7, focus on Pet Safety / Pet Awareness and basic skills for Pet First Aid/CPR.
Children will learn how to keep pets safe, how to approach an injured pet and hands on participation with (children friendly)
CPR critters. This specialized class is 2 hours in length. Participants receive a toy critter, completion award and book of
pet first aid stories written especially for this age group.
123's and CPR
Students ages 8-11, focus on Pet First Aid / CPR and Pet Safety and Responsible Pet Ownership.
This unique class is extremely educational and is 2 hours in length. Participants receive a toy critter, certificate award
and Pet First Aid book designed especially for kids.
Pet First Aid / CPR
Students ages 12-adult, focus on the American Red Cross Pet First Aid / CPR certification
program. Hands-on activities performing various scenarios such as; rescue breathing, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, abdominal
thrust (choking) and bandaging injuries on life-size dog and cat mannequins and so much more. This certified class is 4 hours
in length; includes Pet First Aid book, pet first aid supplies, vital information packets and certification card (no expiration).
