Almost a year
It's almost been a year since I last update this blog (and site). I've been busy really. I have other endeavors for now
that take my time. Including the new addition to my family (Leo born September 26, 2006).
Lately, I've been gardening (and writing about it among other things). So it has been hard to do anything else.

Back from Vacations and still...
catching up! I am in the planning stages (very final stages) for this homeschooling year. I hope this year will be just
as good as the last. The kids always seem excited at first then toward the end we poop out. But that's okay. We make up for
it with our extended field trips and such. The kids love to learn now and that's a great thing. It makes schooling so much
better.
The baby is kicking more and more each day and I feel achy sometimes. My bladder hasn't really gone into overtime yet
but I am waiting for it. But I am carrying high and it puts pressure on my lungs, making it difficult to breathe if I do any
sort of physical exercise. But I still like to walk.
I have gotten good production from the garden this year and I am happy with that. So now it's time to say goodbye for
now until next entry. Happy days!

Summer vacations and gardens
We can't put a garden on hold just because we are going on vacation. My gardens will be taken care of by my Master Gardener
Mom. But not everyone has access to these helpful people. There are options however.
You could get a timer for a drip irrigation. Basically, this is a hose system that has holes in it that allows the water
to seep out. With a timer, you can set it to stay on for so long, at such and such time and then it will shut off. I think
the downside to this is if something goes wrong with the time, power or water supply you might not get the greatest results.
You could also try making a drip irrigation bottle for the gardens. You drill a small hole into the bottle top and then
put water in the bottle, screw the lid on and turn the bottle upside down. The downside to this method, is the cap could become
blocked by thick soil and not drip out. You have to make sure the hole is big enough to let water pass. Trial and error seems
the best method for determining the hole size.

Gardening is My Life
Check out my newest articles at http://www.gardenandhearth.com/LittleGardeners.htm
I love gardening. It’s hard work especially with a baby on the way. My body at times wants to give up. But I am not ready
to put the garden on the back burner. It’s a great thing for my family. Good gardens, good food. It’s all organic. I don’t
use sprays unless I make them myself using garlic, cayenne pepper and vinegar and natural safe dish detergent.

Where Can You Sell Your Articles?
Freelance writers are a necessary thing especially on the Internet. Many businesses need content. But where can you sell
your articles? There are many places to look at.
Constant Content:
I like this site. You set the price. You just upload your article and then wait for someone to come along and see it. Some
buyers place wants, needs and desires for content on the board so you can write to their specific demands too. The downside
would be the wait. But good things come to those who wait (as the saying goes).
There are many other sites too. Just type in freelance writing, or something about who will take my web content into your
favorite search engine and see where that takes you. There are many other places to find markets and networking for your writing.
Check out these:
Writer’s Row This is a great community of writers that has a lot of experience and resource behind them. The owner has a blog where she
posts jobs available for freelancers (mostly writing but there are other freelance jobs now posted there for others such as
photographers and graphic designers, and other artistic ventures)
Absolute Write Forums This is a great group of people. They have experience in the writing world. The forums are vast and there are many different
boards. But it's a great place to get started.
Writer’s Market Online This is a site that you have to pay for to get the services but it’s very much worth it.
