Cinder Block Garden
raisedbed.jpgThis is my cinder block garden. It wasn't quite finished yet when I took this picture but it's close. I fixed a few of the spots that stick out and the tires in the background are somewhere else.

tick season in the garden
It's official. Yesterday we had our first tick spotting. It was crawling up my youngest daughter's leg. A little feisty one too! It didn't take much for her to notice it and immediately tell me. She knows all about ticks. They seem to love her, especially her head. But of course, she is always playing around trees and in the mud and on the ground. So it is a common place for them to be in trees and fall down on unsuspecting victims.

There are a lot of dangers in the garden that sometimes we never realize it until it's too late. Ticks can carry nasty little diseases so we don't take any chances. I guess they are no worse than mosquitoes really. But like spiders, they give some people the creeps.
