If they haven't eaten breakfast, please send one for them.
SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS:
I do the 'ages & stages' assessment on each child twice a year and go over them with the parents. I also have
specialists in to assess their hearing and vision.
Parent/Family Involvement Events:
SPECIAL FAMILY EVENTS:
There are four events planned during the year that you
are encouraged to participate in. (1) 'Easter Egg Hunt & Activities'. We
get together the Saturday before Easter at 10 a.m. and have a fun hunt with as many family members as want to participate.
We hunt for plastic eggs filled with toys, coins, and candy. We also, blow bubbles, create Easter Art, and
do some face painting. We have refreshments and a chance to socialize. (2) 'Sun Splash Family Fun
Day'. In the summer, all the families get together and spend a day at Sun Splash Family Water Park (http://www.sunsplashwaterpark.com/index.html) in Cape Coral, Fl.
(3) 'Thanksgiving Lunch' prepared by the children and myself. The children and
I prepare a 'traditional' Thanksgiving meal and invite their parents to come to lunch with their child from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m.
on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. (4) 'Craft Night' In early December an evening is set
aside for the preschooler and his/her parents to come to preschool and make crafts together. 10 - 15 preselected crafts
with all the materials to make them, are provided. This is a chance to work one on one with your child undisturbed by
the usual household obligations. It also provides a relaxed atmosphere to chat with your preschooler's peers parents.
Refreshments are provided.
"GOLD SEAL" RATING & CHILD CARE CONFERENCES:
This involves me keeping up with meetings, workshops and conferences. There are two major conferences a year.
One is at the end of June and requires me to be closed on a Thursday and Friday. The other one is near the end
of september, which involves a Friday- Saturday. Sometimes I have meetings at night, sometimes needing me to leave
between 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
VACATIONS:
At sometime during the summer, my husband and I try to take a vacation. This can be anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks.
(most often, 2 weeks) I let everyone know 'way' ahead of time. Also, my policy is: If I'm open, I charge.
If I'm closed, I don't charge.
