Senior Group-(generally ages 13 & up)
Workouts are designed for all senior
level swimmers from high school to national qualifiers. Swimmers will participate in dryland training consisting of body weight
exercises, plyometrics, core strength training and stretching. Water training consists of daily instruction on stroke and
turn fundamentals, balanced aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, race strategy, and pace work. A senior team member should
attend as many meets as possible and practice according to their stated goals.
Gold
Group-(generally ages 11-13)
Gold team member’s primary purpose
is to prepare for Sr. level training and competition. With that goal, swimmers will strive to achieve functional training
habits and stroke development that they can carry on to the next level. Gold group
members should strive to practice according to their stated goals for the season.
Red Group-(generally ages 9-12)
Fun and challenging workout are provided
to members of this group. Swimmers in this group have or are striving to achieve Indiana zone and state cutoff times. Emphasis is placed on achieving
mastery of stroke technique and conditioning that will continue to the next level and beyond.
White Group-(generally
ages 8-10)
The “core group” of Fort
Wayne Aquatics. Swimmers in this group learn the basic fundamentals of a swimmers training including use
of the pace clock, FWA stroke drills, interval training and race preparation.
Blue Group-(generally entry level FWA swimmers)
Swimming at this level is approached
mainly from a fundamental level. The desired objectives are to teach basic stroke mechanics and provide an atmosphere in which
a swimmer learns the skills in a fun and challenging atmosphere.

assignments based on both age and level of ability)
