To all of Div 41

Hello:

I am Les Siron; I have recently been elected President of MABAS Div. 41.  I am currently the Deputy Chief of Operations and also volunteer for Bloomington Township Fire Department where I am a firefighter.  I have been a firefighter since 1984 starting my career in the fire service with Lexington Fire Protection District until 1989 when I hired on with Bloomington. 

I have been active with MABAS for over ten years and have served as President of the original MABAS committee.  I want to thank Glenn Rosecrans and Mike Limer, my two predecessors for doing an outstanding job of getting the division organized.  I also want to thank all of the Officers and members that come to the meetings and get involved in the various committees.  No one can do this job alone and it helps to have good people that are willing to get involved.

I will be looking at the standing committees and I would welcome anyone in the Division to come to the meetings and help on these committees.  Most of the committees only meet two or three times per year and some meet on a more regular basis.  A list of the committees is on the website and I will need to make some changes as people have changed positions and had to leave various committees.

I will be attending the MABAS Conference in Peoria the 23, 24, and 25^th of February, and should have a report of any new equipment or direction from the State at the next Division Meeting on March 19, 2009 at Bloomington Fire Department #2 station 1900 hr.

I look forward to the next two years as President of the Division.  I feel that we have some of the best fire departments in the state in our division.  If anyone has a concern or question please feel free to e-mail or call me.  If I don’t have the answer I am pretty good at finding the right people to get you one.
