After we have decided last December homecoming that we provide scholarship or educational assistance to children of the Alumni
of the Notre Dame Schools of Siena and IBED, and after we have signified our committed to sustain it for four complete scholarship
years, many projects, programs and activities were proposed (i) to capture more benefits in terms of assistance provided (ii)
to be able to raise and generate more funds quickly and (iii) assistance that would matter to the lives of individual alumni-beneficiary.
With the current short term commitment and the need to develop an institution within Batch 80 to manage and direct its programs
and projects, a Council is proposed as a policy making body that would serve as an advisor and provide policy directions for
beneficial and sustainable programs. The Council shall focus on six specific areas namely: (i) educational assistance (ii)
NDM Alumni Association (iii) finance (iv) policies and directions (v) outreach programs and (vi) promotions.
Educational Assistance
The specific assistance would focus on the following: (i) scholarship - tuition, (ii) book assistance - payment of books and
acquisition, (iii) sports development, and (iv) donation of computer equipment. Other forms of educational assistance maybe
provided as deemed necessary by the Council. Coordination with the two schools and the corresponding requirements will be
facilitated by the Committee.
Initially, the Ad-Hoc group, an offshoot of the Steering Committee proposed the following educational assistance to be given
first year high school students:
1. One half scholar each for Siena and IBED at PhP7, 500.00 each, total amount is PhP15, 000.00;
2. Book assistance to two students each of Siena and IBED at PhP2, 500 each, total amount is PhP10, 000.00; and
3. Donation to NDM Alumni Association of PhP10, 000.00
4. Total fund allocation is PhP35, 000.00
Criteria for Educational Assistance:
1. Must belong to the upper 10% of the graduating Grade 6 Class;
2. Must be a child of Notre Dame of Marbel Alumni; and
3. The family must belong in the lowest income bracket.
For acquisition of books for reference, the Family Council of Siena where Jerry Dujale sits as member has facilitated to avail
of the free textbooks of their choice from the Asia Foundation. The application is now on process.
