Odyssey puppies are raised in a loving home environment, with lots of handling, as well as various kinds of stimuli.

Each puppy is handled many times by me each day.  They are held different ways (on my lap, in my arms like a baby, on their back, etc.) so they are comfortable with many kinds of loving physical contact.  Their feet are handled, and their little nails are ground with a gentle pet dremel to get used to having nails worked on.

My priority is to place each puppy in a home where they will be a cherished member of the family.....living in the home, getting lots of loving attention, romping in a fenced yard, going for walks, and being spoiled!

Thanks to some suggestions by Pam Houck (Haze's mom - see the Abby/Adam page), I try to expose the puppies to various kinds of stimuli as they grow and explore their world.  Two of the favorites have been the cat tunnel and the garbage can lid (great for "king of the mountain").  As they grow, I add an incline board and a small stool for them to crawl over and under.  Once they are old enough to be a little more resistant to germs and infection (I am pretty paranoid about outside exposure), I will allow a few close and trusted friends and relatives to come in and interact with the puppies.  I also try to expose them to things like the lawn mower and vacuum cleaner, which will be part of their everyday lives when they go to their "forever" homes.
