This site is about the USS Springfield CLG-7 's snipe veterans . We have put together a group of EM, BT, MM, veterans
that served together in the 1967 - 1972 era . We have had 5 reunions and will have more. Any and all CLG-7 sailors
are welcome to contact me for more info and reunion news .
You may also click on our link " LAST DAYS OF USS SPRINGFIELD CLG-7" to see some photos of the old lady being
stripped of her super structure, missile house , turrets, and mounts in the Philly shipyard, the final grave yard for a battle
veteran cruiser .
After 30 some years about 30 of us veterans of Uss Springfield CLG-7 found each other and had our first reunion ,
it was like only yesterday we were all sailing the Med and hitting all those wonderful foreign ports of call. We will
attempt to remember those years and gain new adventures together in the coming years. Thanks for visiting this web site.

Definition of a veteran
'A veteran - whether active duty, honorary discharge,
retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his
or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of
America', for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'
That is honor, and there are way too many people in
this country who no longer understand it.
