Rear Projection TV performance can be improved by lining the inside of the cabinet with a very black, light absorbing material.

Many of the new RPTVs, DLP and LCD have plastic cabinets molded in light gray plastic.  There is a lot of light inside the cabinet and a light gray interior will just reflect more light on to the screen and cross contaminate colors.  You may have read about many using Duvetyne fabric to line the inside of RPTVs, however I prefer to use a black velvet/velour material that is much blacker than the Duveytne.
