To enter the tournament please fill out
the form on this webpage. Your E-Mail address will be kept private, and will
only be used to send tournament related information, contact you in specific necessary cases, and update you on the next tournament. Your E-Mail will be removed from the list when registration begins for Journal Tournament
V. By entering the tournament you agree to abide by these rules:
1. All participants are required to have
an AOL or AIM screen name.
2. Participants must agree to get their
questions in by the posted deadline. Contestants may submit late entries for each task under the following
conditions: computer problems, sickness, family crisis, etc. All extensions to the deadline must be requested for.
The request can be sent by filling out the request form. Extensions will be given on a case by case basis. The
tournament master reserves the right to reject and accept whatever he deems necessary. There is a time limit to the
extensions. The first posting of results for each task will be marked as "unofficial". Once results have
been posted for a particular task as "official", extensions may not be requested for. Results become official when
the next task begins, or when final results are posted after three tasks. If an extension is requested for, it
will be announced on the journal that it has been made, in fair play to the other participants, though it will remain anonymous
in case the situation is a private matter.
3. After the results are posted, contestants
have until the start of the next task to make errors known. Final results posted on [MARCH 24, 2007] are made 100% official
at [MARCH 31, 2007].
4. Questions can be linked to through
the home journal at the appointed time. Contestants may get answers to questions by means of books, internet, TV, family
members, or any other means. They may NOT ask other contestants for help, or give help to other contestants.
5. Once contestants submit their answers,
they are final whether or not questions have been answered. No exceptions! Only computer errors will be considered.
6. Contestants are requested to add the
Journal Tournament journal to their alerts. E-Mails will only be sent to contestants with the questions for each task.
Only emergency tournament updates will be sent. Updates will only be available through entries in the journal.
7. Participants agree to all rules posted
at a later date as situations arise.
8. The Tournament Master reserves the
right to change rules, deadlines, and other details. The Tournament Master WILL NOT, however, shorten a deadline during
said task.
9. Anyone found in violation to the rules
will be penalized according to the discretion of the Tournament Master. This can be anything from points deducted to
disqualification.
10. Keep the tournament G rated.
Any violation in this will result in immediate disqualification and a ban from the journal.
11. Winner's medals will be distributed
according to the number of contestants. This will be decided at a later time. Medals consist of an icon that can
be placed in the winner's journal. Special thanks to Val for her help in this
area.
12. Registrants are requested to advertise
for the tournament in their own journals.
