COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION
|
First, I provide a complimentary consultation in your home. There
is no set amount of time for this consultation; I'll meet with you for as long as it takes. During this time I'll get
a feel for things you like, your style, your tastes, etc. I'll also come with lots of questions, such as:
- What is the function of the space?
- Do you have a style in mind?
- What are some of your dislikes?
- What image do you want to project?
- Will we be working with existing furnishings?
- Will you need any new items?
- What is your time frame?
- What is your budget?
The purpose of this is to develop a relationship with you in order to provide
you with a finished product that you are happy with. The more information I can get through our discussion, the more
successful I'll be in meeting your needs and expectations.
The next step is to provide you with an estimate. After your complimentary
consultation, I'll determine both the cost and the time frame of your job.
We'll then meet again and I'll provide you with an estimate. It's
not until this step that I'll be able to answer the question, "How much do you charge?"
Each job is unique and is billed according to what needs to be done.
Some jobs, or parts of a job, will be billed a flat rate, exclusive of reimbursement for expenses. Other jobs, or parts
of a job, will be billed at an hourly rate.
Again, it all depends on the entire scope of the project.
The third step in the process takes place when you decide to hire me.
At this point, we'll meet again and go over the contract, an important step that allows both you and I to define the
scope of your project.
The contract can specify who will be responsible for what, how long the
project will last and what the budget limits will be.
Once the contract is agreed upon, a deposit may need to be secured, depending
on your specific job.
It's at this point that I will provide you with a plan to complete
your project - and then get started!
My highest priority throughout this entire process is to have open lines
of communication with you, because, as they say, "even the best laid plans . . ." My goal is to be sure that you are
involved and happy if there's ever a "crink in the plans." It's only in this way that I can ensure you are completely
satisfied with the final outcome.
