On this page I'll share information I've gained from experience with my own pets/puppies.
if you have ANY questions PLEASE feel free to ask me!

Things you will need before you bring your pup home!
1-a collar
2-a crate - at first start w/ a small crate ,a crate should allow your pup to stand up and be able to turn around.
3-food/water bowls - HEAVY bowls are best so they can not turn them over easliy, also stainless steele is best alot of dogs are prone to plastic allergies! plastic harbors all kinds of germs and they will cause puppy acne! use stainless steele! or ceramic bowls! your puppy will be on Purina Puppy Chow make sure you have some!
4-chew toys!!! make sure they have no easliy chewable parts that will easily be ingested! stuffies/stuffed animals are GREAT just make sure they have no eyes .etc that will easily be chewed off by a pup. RAW HIDES are not reccomended , they can easily tear peices off and ingest them causeing a blockage! also bringing a stuffie at the time you pick up your pups is HIGHLY reccomended we will rub the MOMMY and pups down w/ it giving it THAT SMELL they are accustomed too and will be a great aide in making it through those first few nights in your home, it will ease their transition period if they can "smell mom & littermates"!!!! they will feel more comfortable. baby blankets will also work well.
5-leash/lead- you will need this on your journey home when you stop for potty breaks.do NOT allow your pup to roam offlead until you are CONVINCED the have learned to obey you totally! it's just VERY dangerous a curious new pup will not always want to follow you or come when called!
6-NEWS PAPER if you are making a LONG journey home , your pup is a BABY, accidents WILL happen in your car etc.
7- start your search for a good vet EARLY
8-DO NOT allow your children to be UNSUPERVISED w/ your new puppy, no matter how well your child is behaved your child is still a child, and so is your pup we all KNOW children will be children and can unitentionally hurt each other!! You wouldnt allow 2  two yr olds alone unspervised think of it this way w/ your child and pup!

Tip 1: Reward and Praise/TRAINING

Training a dog or other animal isn't that different from raising a child: you have to communicate, and you have to offer lots of praise. It doesn't hurt to always be ready with a small piece of your pet's favorite treat, either. We also reccomend using a "penny can" this is an empty soda can filled w/ 23 pennies this sound is the perfect decibal for dogs.when bad behavior happens you shake the can vigorously! Its LOUD but it WORKS!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you "corporal punish" your puppy!
scruffing is acceptable(scruffing is picking your pup up by the scruff of it's neck and giving a firm NO command"
Puppy kindergarten class/followed by obedience class is highly reccomended unless you are VERY familiar w/ training.
Remember what is deemed "cute" puppy behavior is not "cute'" when you have a 15 lb grown adult dog exhibiting the same behaviors. IE: Jumping up on you!
SOCIALIZE your puppy at an early age. after all puppy shots have been administered you want to start socializing your pup. IE: going for walks in public places, trips to petsmart etc. Train your pup to be a good citizen!

Tip 2: CRATE TRAINING /HOUSE BREAKING

Crate training is an excellent option!
It protects your home and your puppy at night time and when you are away. It aides in house breaking faster -pups generally do not want to void/deficate in their "den"
dogs view their crate as their " den" their safe place and bed, you should NEVER use the crate as a PUNISHMENT! dogs will feel safe in their crate so leave the door open when not in use they will eventually come and go from it as they please. NEVER forcibly remove your dog from their den, this is their safe haven!
Pups should be taken out side to potty every hr at first, also after meals. before bedtime and IMEDIATELY in the morning. When accidents happen use the " penny can" as mentioned above.

Tip 3: Dangers for dogs /Puppy proofing your home
Chocolate, grapes & Onions  are extremely DANGEROUS/POISONOUS make sure you have no poisonous plants in reach of your pup!
Keep medications out of reach, electrical cords are a BIG hazzard!
go through your home while crawling look for any hazzards, remove them the same as you would for a baby /toddler or small child!
CHRISTMAS TIME CONCERNS!!!!
do not allow your pup acess to christmas decorations unsupervied! LIGHTS are very appealing to a pup, the cords are very dangerous! tangleing/strangulation is something to watch out for. also breakable bulbs if your pup breaks and consumes a breakable christmas bulb or glass  QUICKLY feed them 3-4 cotton balls soaked in coffee creamer! The cotton will go down and wrap around the glass etc. the coffee creamer is appealing and they will readily eat it. DO NOT substitute this treament instead of Vetrinary treatment it is only an emergency treatment to be appiled IMMEDIATLY on the way to the vet!

TIP 4: Diahrea
in the instance of diahrea feed your dog /pup 100% PURE canned Pumpkin NOT pie filling!!! a few table spoons of this will quickly help w/ diahrea. feed it after every loose stool, it's all nautral there is NO concern of OVERDOSE w/ this treatment! do not avoid the vet w/ this treatment! in cases of severe loose stools as always dont take chances see your vet if it persists for any prolonged period of time!

TIP 5: VACCINATIONS
your puppy needs a set of 3 total shots! DO NOT SKIP them or FORGET THEM!!! I reccomend avoiding a RABIES shot w/ a booster shot! Rabies should be given according to your states age recquirement but NOT in conjunction w/ a puppy booster!
Keep your dog up to date w/ all vaccinations!

Tip 6: FEEDING YOUR DOG/PUP
DO NOT take your puppy home and immediately change it's food! this will result in an upset tummy/diahrea! keep it on the same food then gradually switch it over! combining your new food w/ the old food a little at a time this process should take up to 1 week or more! feed your dog/pup a quality kibble , think of it this way quality food is better than CHEAP food! would you feed your child a diet of junk food? then dont feed your dog/pup junk food! the cheapest brand you can find will only aid in feeding your new fur-kid JUNK!!!!

TIP 7:WORMS/WORMING
Your pup will have been wormed twice prior to going home, i recomend your puppy be wormed atleast 3 times! ALL pups have worms it's a natural course of puppy life. make sure you ask for a fecal test at your first vet visit and then follow your vets protocal for worming!

Tip 8: FLEAS
your pup will be FREE of FLEAS when going home! we HIGHLY reccomend FRONTLINE or BIOSPOT for fleas! We keep all of our adults on frontline for fleas! they are treated monthly! we treat them beginning at 10 weeks w/ frontline! If you do however avoid this and you contract fleas VACUUM after treating w/ frontline. change your vaccum bag afterwards, every time! apply frontline and also douse your carpets w/ TIDE, it works!!!! vaccum up as you would carpet fresh etc. DO NOT USE ANY FLEA TREATMENT BEFORE 10 weeks w/ out consulting your vet it can be TOXIC to young pups! better safe than sorry! other over the counter meds are highly unpredictable!

TIP 9:HEART GUARD/HEART WORMS
your pup should be started on heart worm preventitive IMMEDIATELY!!!!
heart worms are carried by mosquitos! BETTER safe than sorry! if you live in an area where this isn not a problem you are LUCKY!!! Please follow your vets reccomendations for heart worm preventatives!!!!
