A relatively inexpensive but addictive hobby.

I always thought GPS units were only good for the military, government agencies,  and city-slickers who couldn't find North if they were standing at the South Pole.

One evening last April,  I was watching the Travel Channel and they had a segment on a new sport called 'Geocaching.'  It seemed remotely interesting and on a whim I did an internet search and found that several 'caches' were located right in my area.  I borrowed a GPS unit and the whole family went on our first 'treasure hunt.'  It was a blast!  The rules of the game are very simple....using the coordinates, find the cache, sign the logbook, exchange items, and keep it secret...keep it safe.  Real cloak & dagger stuff.  Makes for a nice outting.  You should check it out!

My New Toy

So Small,  So Cute,  So Yellow

I recently received a Garmin Gecko 201 Personal Navigator for my birthday.  It's a useful tool and it's just fun to play with.  I initially used it for Geocaching,  but found several other games I am interested in playing.  My GPS has opened a whole new door for me.  HAHA
