Here I might add an entry whenever I make an update to the site.
Bridge
Mix Entertainment adds a little more pulp to your diet with Pulp Adventure: Girl Friday
Advanced Class for d20 Modern!
The
Girl Friday Advanced Class is a 10-level advanced class that fits into any modern-era/pulp campaign setting.
Inspired, in part, by the name of the right-hand man to the title character
in Daniel Defoe’s novel Robinson Crusoe, the Girl Friday is more than just a sidekick.
Typically serving as the lesser-known companion, secretary, or personal assistant to a more adventurous or famous hero,
the Girl Friday serves as the pulp-era version of the PDA, making sure all the necessary appointments are kept, arrangements
are made, and contacts can be reached. Unlike a PDA, however, she can also be
counted on to bail the hero out of a sticky situation with a well placed desk lamp to the base of some mook’s cranium.
Although this advanced class could also be used to create a "Man Friday",
pulp-era movies and novels typically portrayed more female characters in this role, so that convention is followed in
the book.
In
addition to the advanced class, this product includes a new starting occupation, conversion notes for use with the standard
SRD and/or vitality and wound point systems, an overview of business technology in the pulp era, and a special Class Ability
sheet that you can add to your character sheet to keep track of all your class level-based abilities and bonuses.
9 pages. Price:
$2.50.
10/20/07 - Watch for the imminent release of Pulp Adventure: Girl Friday Advanced Class from Bridge
Mix Entertainment (I wrote it, plug, plug)!
09/01/07 - Several updates to the Credits page.
04/09/07 - FREE RPG TOOLKIT! - One of the publishers I have worked with in the past, Philip Reed
of Ronin Arts, is revisiting the engine to one of my all-time favorite RPGs, the original Marvel Super Heroes RPG. He
plans on releasing the engine to the public domain for interested parties to use as a toolkit for writing further adventures
and expansions for it. I am absolutely thrilled to see this game come back and offered to hist the current version of
the Basic Rules set (now referred to as The Four Colour System) for download. Get yourself a copy here. Also, my wife and I will be at UBCon (Amherst Campus of the State University of New York at Buffalo) next Friday night
and Saturday afternoon (April 13 and 14), running episodes of Dave Arneson's Blackmoor MMRPG (including the World Premiere
of the Episode I wrote; What Lies Beneath) as well as a Blackmoor Marketplace. The following Saturday (April 21), my
wife and I will be at EerieCon 9 in Niagara Falls to run even more events. See the Appearances page for more information.
02/18/07 - Added several new items to the Writing and Playtesting Credits page as well as updates to the Appearances
section.
11/08/06 - Updated the Writing and Playtesting and Reviews pages.
10/06/06 - Added a few new projects to the Writing and Playtesting Credits section. Had the shocking realization
that this list of updates can technically be considered a "blog".
Wow.
I have a "blog".
Does that mean I'm a hip cat now, Daddy-O? Why that's just fab and gear, baby!
08/06/06 - Added Koboldnomicon information and a few minor updates.
I just saw a new review of Koboldnomicon on RPGNow which said: "My favorite feat is actually not a feat for
Kobolds at all. Your DM will not let you run a Kobold? Put the Raised by Kobolds on your humanoid character. It allows you
take on some of the traits of a Kobold while simultaneously sticking your tongue out at the Dungeon Master."
That feat was one of my contributions, so it's always neat to see something you did referenced in a review for a
compilation volume that involved several authors; especially when it's positive!
04/19/06 - Appearances page updated with details for EerieCon Eight.
03/18/06 - Added a new web enhancement for Artisan's Guild (this is number two, for those keeping track), providing conversion
notes for d20 Modern and Castles & Crusades, as well as some other supplementary rules. I also updated the Writing
and Playtesting Credits section with several new projects.
02/05/06 - Several updates including a OD&D Conversion Web Enhancement for Artisans' Guild.
12/30/05 - Updated the Writing and Playtesting Credits section with several new projects.
11/21/05 - "Suck Da Head, Squeeze Da Tail" - probably the most interestingly titled project I've ever worked on - was
released today in PDF format from Dog Soul Publishing. Proceeds from the book go to Habitat For Humanity, working
in the area devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Subtitled "A Book Of Compiled Cajun Arcana", the book contains 200 pages
of Louisiana-flavored goodness for use in any fantasy, modern, or future-based campaign. Please check it out.
In addition to tons of d20 material, articles for other systems such as Castles & Crusades and GURPS are included
as well. With the huge number of writers and artists who contributed to the project, I'm sure you'll find something
you'll enjoy. It can be purchased here:
