I took a stab and picked this disc up after hearing an MP3 of their song "Betrayer" from their new disc. I thought the song was pretty cool but I feared horribly that is would be a speed fest or that there would be many many praised to metal and the glory their of. Thankfully they did not do that.

First off, the production is finally of high quality. (I had one of their earlier releases, "Bound by Metal" I think, and it was just horrid to my ears..and the songs were bad, too, IMHO.

Moving on to the songs...there is a nice array of songs on this...speedy and mid-pace epic and other than references to Norse gods, not much cheese.

The fist two songs are of the speedy variety with "Betrayer" being really catchy and thru one spin was my favorite song. Then it kicks into the epic song "Dead Hope" which has a nice catchy, sing-a-long chorus. From there it just moves on into more speedy double bass blasters and mid-paced epic songs one after another...none hurting in quality. Of course some are better than others, but none falls below the 'good song' level.

If earlier Wizard releases scared you off, be not afraid...this is worth shelling out some cash for. If you are into true power metal..... get his disc or YOU ARE FALSE METAL!!
heh...anyway..... buy it!

Favorites: Betrayer, Dead Hope, Thor's Hammer, Hall of Odin, The Powergod, End of All
