You may be wondering why this is the September 2005 CD of the month when this was released back in November of 2004....I'll explain.

Ghost Machinery is a side-project of Burning Point's main man Pete Ahonen.  Since I found BPs work to be average and this was roughly in the same genre...why bother?  I stumbled across some samples and became curious about the disc...so when rounding out an order a few weeks ago, I added it and
wha-lah.... Album of the Month!!!

Ghost Machinery plays melodic power metal with some classic metal influences.  Some speedy double-bass songs, mid-paced and a couple slower as well.  A decent variety of tempos found within the songs and just catchy as hell hooks.  Most are a little subtle but, when revealed, are rather addicting.  Vocally, there is nothing astonishing (if you are familiar with Burning Point, you know this), but is quite competent as well is the production.

I have gotten several new albums since but I keep coming back to this one.  All the songs are solid at worst and excellent at best.  Surely recommended.

Favorites:  World of Unbelievers, Temples of Gold, Dreamworld, Darkest Hour, In Your (evil) Dreams, Shadows
