I forget now how I even stumbed across this,
but I am glad I did. Sham Rain is a side-project from the Entwine singer and a couple of guys from Grayscale (another
goth band). But what do they play? .....uhm.....goth?
That's right, but this is a little different than the previous mentioned
bands and HIM and 69 Eyes etc.....this album relies much more on the atmospheric side than the typical goth band. it
is definitely a mood type disc.
The first obivous comparison is the Entwine (singer) and the first few
songs sound like the softer songs that Entwine plays (good thing). His voice is quite distinctive thought a bit on the
nasal side. I am fine with it but I could see how it could annoy some people. Later on, the songs become softer,
slower and more atmospheric. Last night, I listened to this disc a couple of times with all the lights out and
the headphones on and found it to be quite relaxing and a little mind-bending....definitely makes you think about things.
If you are in the mood...definintely get this disc.
