I will preface this review by saying that I am a complete Manticora fanboy.
I chose to review Roots of Eternity because of its' recent re-release.
To me this is the definition of power-thrash.... heavy, wall-of-sound guitars and machine gun heavy drums. The bonus
with Manticora is the emotional vocals, change-of-pace songs, killer time changes and majestic acoustic interludes within
the songs.
Drums: Mads Wolf is a mad, mad drummer. I usually don't get taken in by drum
work, but this guy is the shit. He is incredibly fast, but also is creative as well. Throughout the album, there
are these little drum fills that never seem to repeat themselves. There is just something always going on.. when I picture
this guy playing drums... I see 4 arms and 4 legs.
Guitars: Heavy and fast with killer solos, smooth acoustic stuff as well.
Vocals: Not the most soothing of voices, but very energetic and emotional which
is what I like in vocalist.
Bass: What the hell do I know about bass.
If you've never tried Manticora, try this album...you won't be disappointed.
