After releasing two merely good albums (Hyperion & Darkness with Tales to Tell), Manticora returns with a killer album that almost rivals the great Roots of Eternity.

Their sound is basically unchanged...still playing melodic power/thrash.  Have I mentioned I love their sound yet?  okay...I will now.... There is something with their sound that I can't get enough of.... everytime I need a little break from the musical onslaught...BAM...time change, drum fill, acoustic interlude, something that just grabs some attention then just as you start to crave the bludgeoning (sp?) again, wham-o, here comes Mads with his drums and a wall of guitars....

This album does seem like more mature than previous efforts.  The songs seem more thought out and complete than previous works.  I don't really know what else to say about Manticora other than I urge you to give them a try.

This is another must-buy for those who like the style.

Favorites:  Fall from Grace, It Feels Like the End, Playing God, Creator of Failure

92 / 100

The reason Roots got a higher score than this album is the emotional factor and personal connection to the songs..ie, the lyrical content.
