Here we have another in a long line of blah goth rock/pop bands that have popped up
since HIM became successful. Is SoulRelic any different?
Not overly, but some if the songs are kinda catchy.
The sound of SoulRelic is typical of the genre and most of the songs seem to follow
a noticeably annoying pattern. The songs start off with a someone driving riff with keyboards interwoven in the sound
and then ...stop....bass line and drum with a little keyboard or guitar here and there. Then, when the bridge/Chorus
appears, so does the return of the opening riff. While this is fine for a song arrangement, it should not
be the arangement for almost every song, no matter how well it is done.
The vocals are average and occasionally nasal in delivery. Won't offend anyone,
but certainly won't impress anyone. Lyrically, guess.....oh the pain of love and loss :)
A decent album.
