I had never heard of The Dreamside until a stumbled across them at Amazon.com.
I was looking at some Xandria and Within Temptation stuff and on the bottom where they have the recommendation areas, there
it was. I got a few sample and bought the disc.
The Dreamside plays goth-rock with some atmospheric songs...throw in some 80's dance/techno/club
beats in a few songs...a very nice female vocalist and the occasional male (in a variety of voices) and that sums it up.
Some of these songs are very radio friendly and extremely catchy (if not redundant
as on Open Your Eyes...still a good song though) and I like the atmosphere on this album set forth by the use of
keyboards. I also like the amount of electronica on this...just enough to influence the songs, but they do not define
the song...perfect.
The only thing I would want is the songs to be more...stronger. Leave more of
an impact, they are good....but only a few stick the ribs, if you know what I mean.
