Welcome to my knitting--no, fiber arts--no, artisan blog.
Other knitting blogs inspired me to start a knitting blog. But I also crochet, weave, and make jewelry, and I'm just learning
to make cheese. So I guess that makes this an artisan blog.

How I'm Spending My Summer Vacation
I'm getting a new book next week, but until then, I'm on vacation. That means I get to knit as much
as I want and read anything I want:

That's the beginning of a pea-green summer sweater; must be for Lynn, huh?

No red pencils, no more books . . .
The foot and ankle book and the family medicine book are finally done. Now I can do something else,
like finish these:

This is Opal yarn that I got on eBay. It's a ball from a test batch that never went into production. I can't begin to imagine
why. Aren't we all a little tired of the narrow stripes by now? I love this one. It took three tries to get the second sock
started in the right place so they'd match. I've never tried to make the self-patterning socks match before, but I could see
once I'd turned the heel that it would be pretty easy with this yarn.
