Basil can be easily grown from seed in the garden or pot in the kitchen window (year round if there is enough heat and light).  It is also available fresh year round from most super markets.

It makes a great way to season olive oil, if it is to be preserved.

Great for fresh pizza, I also like to use with chicken.  This is a very versatile herb.
