Mr. Osorio received a degree in Mathematics and Physics from the Universidad del Atlantico, Colombia, he also holds a Master's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the State University of New York (SUNY). Nestor joined Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, Illinois in 1982 and currently is a Professor and Subject Specialist for Science and Engineering. Professor Osorio is a member of the American Society for Engineering Education, The American Society for Information Science, and the Association for College and Research Libraries. He is a board member of the electronic journal "Issues in Science and Technology Librianship" (ISTL), and a referee board member of the journal "Science and Technology Libraries". An author of numerous scholarly papers and bibliographies. He has presented a number of papers at national and international conferences. Mr. Osorio's areas of interest include technical information, the use and development of digital collections, content analysis,  and bibliometrics.
