We drove overnight from Dallas across Louisiana, Mississippi and down to Alabama and into the Florida panhandle - about 14 hours all up. Destin is a famous beach resort on the Gulf Of Mexico, about an hour from Pensacola, and is famous for it's pure white sand and crystal clear water.

We spent 5 relaxing days in a beautiful resort called Sandestin and enjoyed alot of sun and surf. There had been storms the previous week and the only sad thing was the colour of the water - somewhat green due to the churned up seaweed.
