From Savannah we spent another day driving another 500 or so miles up through Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina until we crossed into Virgina.

 

A place I had always wanted to visit was Virginia Beach. The Virginia Beach area is a coastal holiday resort and also a place of major boating  & naval activity, with the famous Hampton Roads harbour being bounded by the areas of  Norfolk, Hampton, Newport News and Chesapeake. 

 

We spent an evening on the beach, swimming late into the evening before finding a little cafe for dinner.
