What I'm doing this week:
Krogers:  Birds Eye frozen veggies are on sale for $1.  Use the $1 off of 2 coupon that was in the 3/9/08 SmartSource sunday insert or the .35 coupon that was in the 1/6/08 SmartSource sunday insert.  If your Krogers doubles like mine does, you will end up paying $1 for 2 if you use the $1/2 or .30 if you use the .35 coupon.  They also have colgate toothpaste on sale for $1.  Use the .50 coupon that was in the 2/24 SmartSource insert and you will get them for free if your Kroger's doubles.  They have Green Giant frozen veggies on sale for $1.  Go to http://shortcuts.com/Home.action and register your Kroger card and load the Green Giant $1 off of 2 e-coupon.  Then go to Kroger's and purchase 2 boxes for $2.  One dollar will automatically come off your order and then hand them the $1 off of 2 coupon that was in the 3/16 SmartSource coupon and you will end up getting both of the package of veggies for free.

What I'll be doing this week
I will be going to CVS on Saturday because I received in the mail a coupon for 25% entire order for either Saturday or Sunday.  Here's what I'll be getting:
2 bags of Dove Chocolate Easter Eggs that are on sale 2 for $6.  I have a B1G1F (Buy 1 Get 1 Free) coupon that will bring the price down to 2 for $3.  I will then receive $2 in ECB (Extra Care Bucks).

1 box of Alavert Non-Drowsy allergy relief for $6.99.  I have a $4 c/o (coupon) that I printed off the internet.  You'll be able to find it by googling "alavert $4 coupon".  I will then get a $3 ECB from that.

$10 worth of St. Ives skin care.  I have a CVS coupon for $1 off.  I will get $5 ECB for that.

2 bottles of Garnier hair care products that are on sale for $2.99.  I have $1 c/o's for those.  I will then get $4 ECB for those.

$10 of Irish Spring bar soap, deodorant or body wash.  I have $1 c/o's for those.  I will then get $5 ECB's for that.

At the end of the order before I give the manufacturer coupons, I always hand them the CVS c/o's and ECB's first, then the manufacturer c/o's.  I will let you know how much the order came to and how much in ECB's I receive.  I should get $19 in ECB's, but we'll see.

Walgreens:
I will be buying $10 in ConAgra foods which include Van Camp pork and beans among others.  Here's the breakdown:  Van Camp's pork and beans are .99 regularly priced.  I will buy 11 of them getting my total around $10.90.  The coupon in their sale ad will bring the total down to about $4.30.  I have one $1 c/o to bring it down to $3.30.  I will then send the receipt in at the end of the month and get $5 back (#49 in the Easy Saver catalog).

I might get the Oust Candle holder for .99 after Easy Saver c/o and manufacturer c/o, but I all ready have a ton of the Oust/Glade/Airwick stuff right now.  My house smells like a very potent flower garden as it is.  It has to be that way to combat the smell of my three kid's dirty socks and clothes!!

Russell Stover Easter Eggs are regularly priced 2/$1.  I will buy them in sets of 4 because I have B2G1F c/o's from March 3rd's Smart Source.  Combined with the in-ad coupon 3/$1, they will end up being about 8 cents a piece.

Trident Splash Gum is on sale B1G1F and I have B1G1F c/o's.  They will cancel each other out and I will end up getting 2 packs of gum for free!!!  You ever notice that things taste better when they are free.

Aquafresh toothpaste is on sale for .99 and I have c/o's for $1 off.  Free toothpaste!!  I can feel my teeth getting whiter already.

Wish me luck.

Hello everyone.  My name is Jim.  They call me "Big Country" because not only am I a country music fan, but because I am 6' 6" tall.  I graduated Elkhart Memorial High School in 1986.  I went to college, but I was too immature and irresponsible so I had to drop out.  I went into the U.S. Air Force instead.  I was stationed at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, TX (boot camp) for 6 weeks, Chanute AFB, Rantoul, IL for about 1 year (tech school-electronics), and then Castle AFB, Atwater, CA for 2 1/2 yrs.
I got out of the Air Force in 1991, met my future wife Feb 8th, 1992 through a old friend.  Come to find out later that my old friend was planning and scheming on how to set Joann and myself up on a date.  Well, obviously it worked.  We got married on Jan 16th, 1993.  We have 3 kids; James, Jenna, and Jacob.  Yes, some of you may have noticed that all 5 names in our household start with J's.  That way it's easier to remember the names as I get older and start forgetting stuff (not really, just ended up that way).

Jim The Coupon Guy's Tips

1. Get several (5 or 6) copies of the coupon sheets each week. (You can get extra copies from friends/family that don't use coupons)

2. Know the rules and policies of the stores you shop at. (You can find these at their web site).  If you have a favorite store that you shop most often, have their 1-800 # handy.  You'll need it when, not if, you run into the "Coupon Nazi" cashiers.

3. DON'T use a coupon just because you have it - wait for the product to go on sale.

4. DON'T shop when you're hungry.

5. DON'T buy products that aren't part of your game plan.

6. File your coupons (as you cut them out) according to your preference (I do it alphabetically).  File the coupons to the back of your file and use the coupons in the front of each file - the ones that are oldest or closest to expiring).

7. My Triple Play: 1)coupon 2)on sale 3)refunds (this is the hardest but most fun part - you can find out about this on the RefundCents web site through my favorite links)

8. Having an ORGANIZATION system is KEY.

9. Do NOT take advantage of the system, because it will ruin it for the rest of the couponers.
