Fruit drink recipes

Here are some fruit drink recipes.   Feel free to modify them and then let us know your own creations!

CHERRY VANILLA SMOOTHIE

1 cup apple juice or cider
1/2 cup low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups frozen pitted cherries
Blend and drink!  Serves 2

BERRY BONANZA SMOOTHIE

1/2 cup EACH frozen blackberries, blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries
1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup cherry juice

Blend and drink!  Serves 2

HEIDI'S DAIRY-FREE MORNING SMOOTHIE

1/2 cup frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen peach slices
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1 ripe banana
2/3 cup orange juice

Blend and drink!  Makes 1 large or 2 smaller smoothies.

***Variations:  can add 1/2 cup regular or soy yogurt, and/or 2 Tbsp wheat germ or Flax Seed

FRUIT SHAKE
 
5 strawberries
1/2 pint of blueberries
1 banana
1 cup of milk or juice
4-5 icecubes
1 scoop of whey protein

Blend in a blender...drink...enjoy all the benefits.

Variation: 
**add  1 1/2 cups of cantalope for a new flavor
**use mint leaves instead of blueberries

BERRY BANANA SMOOTHIE

1 cup reduced-fat vanilla yogurt
1 medium-ripe banana, peeled, cut into chunks and frozen
1/4 cup each frozen, unsweetened strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries
1 cup fat-free milk

Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor. Cover and process until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses; serve immediately.

Yield: 3 servings

CANTALOUPE CRUSH
 
1 cup cantaloupe cubes
1/3 cup pineapple chunks
1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup frozen or canned peaches
1 teaspoon sugar
3 ice cubes

Whirl all ingredients in a blender until smooth.   Enjoy.  Serves 2

MANGO BLUEBERRY "FOOL"

1 (1-lb) ripe mango, pitted, peeled, and cut into chunks
1/4 cup sugar, or to taste
2 Tbsp fresh lime juice, or to taste
1 cup chilled heavy cream
1 1/2 cups blueberries (1/2 lb)
Grated lime zest to taste

Purée mango, sugar, lime juice, and a pinch of salt in a blender until very smooth. Add cream and blend until very thick. Blend in additional lime juice and sugar to taste.

Transfer to a bowl and fold in most of blueberries, then divide among 6 glasses. Top with remaining blueberries and zest. If desired, chill, loosely covered, 30 minutes.
 
**could substitute peaches for mangos if desired

ORANGE JULIUS  from Dan and Wanda
 
Peel and tear 2 oranges into small pieces in the blender.
 
Add:
1 cup water
1 cup milk
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla.
 
Blend, then add 12 ice cubes and blend until ice is crushed.
 
Serve immediately.  Makes 3-4 servings.

RASPBERRY FRAPPE

1 pint raspberry sorbet
2 cups white grape juice
1/2 pint fresh raspberries
2 T fresh lemon juice
1 can (12 ounces) lemon-lime soda

In a blender, combine sorbet, white grape juice, raspberries and lemon juice.  Blend until smooth.  Pour into pitcher.  Stir in lemon-lime soda.  Serve immediately.  Makes 6 drinks.

CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY FRAPPE

1 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup chilled water
1 cup raspberries
1/4 cup chocolate syrup

Blend until smooth and serve immediately

FRUIT SMOOTHIE
 
Put as many frozen strawberries, blueberries, peaches, nectarines and/or prunes as desired in a blender that can handle making smoothies. 
Add 1/2 cup of pedialyte (for electrolytes)
Add one cup of any flavor yogurt.
Blend and enjoy. 

Peach Almond Roca Smoothie

2/3 cup frozen peaches (just plain- NOT in syrup!)
5 ounce. (or more if needed) light vanilla soy milk (or fat free milk)
1 Tablespoon Fat Free French Vanilla Coffee-mate
1 Tablespoon Sugar Free Torani Almond Roca Syrup
3 Splenda packets (optional)
3 large ice cubes

Place all of the ingredients in blender & blend on high speed for 30-45 seconds.

Lemon-Berry Crush Smoothie from Kraft Foods

1-1/2 cups cold fat free milk
1-1/2 tsp. Lemonade Flavor Soft Drink Mix
1 cup vanilla low-fat yogurt
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 cup ice cubes

PLACE all ingredients in blender; cover.
Blend on high speed until smooth.
SERVE immediately.
