Ruth (Kenworthy)was born February 16, 1933 in Verona Ohio, to Jim(1899-1989 and Myrtle(Requarth)
Kenworthy(1904-1990). She had one brother who passed away on February 27, 2006 In Garland TX. 3 nephews, Kevin, Bruce
and Joe Kenworthy. 1 niece, Twila (Kenworthy) Fugate. Ruth attended all 12 grades in Verona and graduated from Verona
high school in 1950. Ruth attended Miami Jacobs college in Dayton and went on to work for NCR in Dayton Ohio.
Bob was born February 28, 1933 in Dayton Ohio, to Fred(1909-1998) and Edith(Landis) Shepherd(1910-2002).
Bob was an only child. He was raised in Ithaca Ohio and attended the 1st 8 grades in the one room school pictured on this
site. He moved , with his parents to a farm north of Ithaca. From there he graduated from Arcanum high school in May 1951.
In June Bob went to work for NCR in Dayton Ohio.
Verona and Ithaca are 20 miles north west of Dayton Ohio.
Bob & Ruth lived only 5 miles from each other they did not meet until they both became employmed
at NCR. After a two year courtship they were married June 20, 1953 The wedding took place at Ruth's home in Verona
Ohio. Bob was in the Army at that time stationed in Neosha Mo. Ruth joined Bob and they lived in Neosha for 18 months.
Bob was discharge from the Army, in 1955. We returned to Ohio and both returned to worked for NCR Corp. In 1956 we built
our first home South of Verona. It was a pre-cut home from Pease Corp, Hamilton Ohio. After building the home we
became parents of two boys. In 1971 we sold that home and moved to Dayton near the Salem Mall. In 1972 a career
move, to become the Production Control Mgr., at NCR's new factory in Millsboro Delaware. In 1976 Bob left
NCR and began a new career as Materials Mgr. with Airpax Inc. ( A division of Philips) in Cambridge on the Eastern
Shore of Maryland . Ruth became employed by Beltone-Lednum, A hearing aid dealer. She worked as a secretary and hearing
aid sales person. Jeff, Our oldest son graduated from Sussex Central High School in Delaware. He attended Embry Riddle college
in Daytona Beach Fl. David graduated from Cambridge High High School in Cambridge Md. He joined the Marines imediately after
graduating. Both still live on Maryland's Eastern Shore. In April of 1994, during a visit to Bob's parents, who
lived in Skyview Estates Lakeland Fl. we purchased a home near his parents. Bob and Ruth retired
in September 1995. In November 1995 We moved to Skyview Estates, Lakeland Florida. For several years
we spend the month of August in a cabin located in the Tennessee mountains. The owners have since transformed it
into their permanent residents so we now spend our summers in Maryland or Florida. Ruth stays busy as the librarian for our
community. The library has more than 4000 books and movies which keeps her busy. Bob plays golf a couple times a week and
does computer work for the Skyview residents.
