About Mom

The Common Sense Mom is a freelance writer and computer geek living in Central Illinois. I don't really have any spare time to write or to develop a website. But, I like it, so I do it anyway just for fun.

My dear husband (The Common Sense Dad) is also a computer geek, but he gets paid to be. We have 4 children, and I am privileged to be their stay-at-home mom. I am also their school teacher because they are home educated. We thank God for what they have each added to our family. In this season of our lives, parenting is what we do almost all of the time.

A hallmark of our family is a love of reading. The Common Sense Dad's motto is, "So many books, so little time." We are heavy users of the library, and I spend several hours each month researching quality reading material to satisfy the reading appetites of our young crowd of readers. On occasion, I stumble across some real gems that stand out from the crowd, and I hope my reviews lead you to enjoy some of them.

As you can see from the navigation buttons on the website, I have a number of interests. I'm discovering that most of what I want to know at this point in my life was not taught to me in school. So, I head to the library or the internet to read up on the lastest thing to pique my curiousity. Then, I tell you about it here on The Common Sense Mom website.
