Judo club members win at Las Vegas tournament

Allen Johnson on Winners Stand

Goltz Judo Club black belts fared well at the US Judo Masters Nationals held Saturday April 19, 2003 at the Riviera Convention Center in Las Vegas. The results were as follows:
Allen Johnson, 4th degree black belt, a retired business owner and substitute teacher who resides in Alta Loma, took gold in the male over 60-year-old heavyweight division and silver in the open weight division.

O.J. Soler, Nick Niakan, and Gary Goltz
Nick Niakan, 4th degree black belt, President of Advanced Flow Engineering who resides in Anaheim Hills, took bronze in the male over 40-year old middleweight division.
Updates - Allen Johnson is now a 5th degree black belt. He relocated to Los Osos, California where he is the head instructor at a growing local judo club. Nick Niakan recently took silver in his division at the at the 2007 USJA Winter Nationals.
