HO MOD SIG MONTHLY MTG. MINUTES, July 14, 2007, Claire’s Pantry in Seattle
Norm Curtis, Chairman

COMMENTS:
1. Meeting Date: The next meeting is Aug 18 ‘07, 8:30 a.m. The date is a week later than normal because of Good ‘ol Auburn Days. Due to lack of content, a work party replaces the breakfast. The work party will be at Bob Beise’s. More on this as the time gets closer.

PAST SHOWS:
2. None

NEXT SHOWS:
3. Auburn Good Ol’ Days: August 11-12, Tabor
It is Aug. 11-12, with a set-up on Friday the 10th at 12:30. We will be 32X16. Helpers are needed with this show. Let them know if you plan on attending and when.
Rob is going to pick up the trailer before the show at Schneiders’ house. Ross has the license plate renewal. Rob is also taking the trailer home with him as the next show is Lynden and he is going to that show. Also note that Aug 11 is our normal breakfast day, so the August breakfast (work party instead) is a week later. Directions will be forthcoming.

NEW BUSINESS:
none

OLD BUSINESS:
4. Own Road Names: Slease, Some logo contributions were produced by Paul Giske and Mike Slease and discussed at the meeting. Mike Slease is coordinating that search. The most favorable sample was the round one with a few votes for the original (parallelogram with tracks in yellow green) and the alternative (parallelogram with diamond mountains in yellow green). Recommendations for the round one was to have less trunk showing, more leaf area, look at an oval shape, and to drop the word "railroad."
5. Ops at the SP&E, Curtis
We briefly worked on some details of our operations: The "Trains" magazine recommended by Mike S. showed an interesting prototype solution to lack of run-arounds. They used double headed peddlers, so that one loco could always back into a yard, no matter which direction it faced. One would need to have two matched locos, easy with DCC.
6. Status of NCE Software Upgrade: Curtis
Here waiting to be installed, probably at the Lynden show
7. Status of UTP Panels on Corners: Curtis,
Bob has the sockets and wires and UTP Panels. We hope to have these ready by Lynden.
8. Status of Train Running Board: Curtis
Bob B. has made the labels, now he needs the magnetic strips from Al and I’ll need to get a metal sheet to display them. On site by Lynden
9. Status of WEBSITE: Ellis
We have decided on two sites, one that is frequently updated and one with more permanent work on it. Hopefully they will be done this month.
