HO MOD SIG MONTHLY MTG. MINUTES, May 12, 2007, Andy’s Diner in Seattle Norm Curtis, Chairman
COMMENTS:
1. Meeting Date: The next meeting is June 16 ‘07, at Andy’s Diner in Seattle. (8:30 am). NOTE THE CHANGE!
THIS IS THE 3RD SATURDAY.
PAST SHOWS: 2. NETC Show: Lake City, April ’07, Curtis After a month
at the store, we finally had to take down. It went very smoothly thanks to the helpers without modules that were able to lend
a hand. We had to be out by six when the doors closed. We spent most of the breakfast discussing ops and where to go with
this. This was summarized in a mailing that I made previously to attendees for extra comments and corrections. I will mail
this out to all soon.
More discussion centered on ops at Tom Enloe’s in Cherry Valley and how we could work
that in. There seems to be some interest in going fewer, but longer sessions (to save travel time and gas $$$). Furthermore,
there was considerable interest in going on Saturday after breakfast, making maximum use of carpooling.
NEXT SHOWS: 3.
Snoqualmie Days: August, Peters No news on this one yet. 4. Auburn Good Ol’ Days: August 18-19, Tabor This
show is confirmed. It is Aug. 11-12, with a set-up on Friday the 10th. We will be 32X16 - this is figuring in the corners.
Rob, Mike, and Ross would like some help with this show. 5. Note: that there are no scheduled shows during the months of
May, June, or July. This is unusual. Any opportunities should be looked for. The trailer is now parked at the Schneider’s
for awhile. My wife really appreciates this. I mean REALLY!
NEW BUSINESS: 6. Commercial Signals: Beise, Tabled
OLD
BUSINESS: 7. NCE Software Upgrade: Curtis I have the upgrade chip now and will probably get it installed by the next
show. This upgrade boasts the following improvements: supports 28 functions, playable whistle, enhanced accessory control,
and enhanced consist ops. 8. Railfan trip to Georgetown: Curtis, Tabled 9. Scolle's layout visit, Jones, Mike
has made contact. Originally we wanted to observe an ops session, but Paul says that it would be too crowded and too busy.
He recommended a session on Sat or Sun afternoon. Mike is going to schedule this probably this spring. 10. Own Road Names:
We have been seeking a Road Name for our layout. Attendees voted on their favorite four of those submitted. These four
were sent out on May 17th for a final vote. I will post the results in a week or so. 11. Status of UTP Panels
on Corners: Curtis, We will try to place a "bus socket" outside on the corner, supported by Velcro between the skirt and
the Plexiglas. Bob B. has a couple of sockets, so it’s a matter of getting these wired. As usual the corners are somewhat
inaccessible in the trailer, so this may wait for the fall shows. 12. Status of Train Running Board: Curtis Bob B. has
the lists that I received and will be making up labels. Al Rathbun has the magnetic tape so we will need to get these two
items together. 13. Ops at Cherry Valley: Norm The winter 2007 regular second Wednesday night sessions have been disbanded
for the summer; however people who are planning on the longer Saturday sessions in the fall and are new or relatively new
to Cherry Valley are encouraged to attend some summer activities to learn the layout. Watch for more announcements on this
when I know more about dates and times. 14. WEBSITE: Ellis Work continues on the WEBSITE revision.
