Minutes of workparty:
By Norm C. 7/11/2009

1. Next mtg, Norm: The next summer activity will be a workparty tentatively somewhere in the southend. We have a number of projects on 4D equipment that should be done by next season. Watch for details. You can also check out the website because as soon as I know something I post it there.

2. GENERAL: Norm: Our second "workparty" of the summer was last Saturday. I think there were about 10 present. Dave E brought some donuts to nibble on. (By the way, Fred L brought donuts to the June session.) Thanks to both Dave and Fred from all of us. More on party item #4.
3. NMRANet Status, Bob:
We gave an update on the NMRANet. For your information, all aspects are coming along well. NCE has agreed to help us, producing the PC boards. Cost will come down dramatically with commercial boards. We should have the system by the fall shows.

4. WYE/YARD Status, Norm: The old wye/yard are stripped. Additional track and turnouts are here. Milt says the new modules are almost done. Tortoises and turnouts are being customized at this time. The next phase is to get the stuff to Mike and Rob for tracklaying. After that, wiring, installation of the NMRANet, testing, and scenicing. Hopefully all that before the Lynden show, early Oct.

5. BACKBOARD PAINTING, Norm: Dave E, Frank D, Bob T, and Milt, all pretty much finished their foreground painting. Dave D finished bluing and blacking. Remember there are some quality deadlines to meet to keep participating in shows. See our WEBSITE for this information. In the past we have had incomplete modules participating for years. In shows where we are judged, these modules most certainly contribute to our ratings. I will try to send out some information in the future to module owners to make sure that you know where you stand.
