Nebulae

Nebulae are star-forming regions that tend to be in the direction of the plane of the Milky Way.  Some are visible in the summer and some in the winter as we can see toward the center of the Milky Way or out towards the edges, respectively.

There are some really awesome images on the Eagle Nebula available.  These shots were done at home using an Orion Sky Glow filter to counteract the light-polluted skies a little.  I almost shot this in west Texas but didn't see much so I moved on - ugh.  The second image shows a lot more of the surrounding nebulosity.  I'm not sure how much of this I really caught but it looks close to other pics so you never know.  The processing of the combined image may have been more harsh.
